Alberto Vargas
ALBERTO VARGAS (he/him/his) is a first year Masters in Public Policy candidate for the Luskin School of Public Affairs. As an incoming Policy Fellow within the UCLA LPPI Research Department, he is passionate about expanding the knowledge and research of economic development and impact from community color in our country.
Prior to starting at UCLA, Alberto worked for California State Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel in the San Fernando Valley. Through his role as a Field Representative in the office, Alberto managed the Latino issues in the district, in addition to healthcare and labor policy issues as well.
Alberto is a native of the San Fernando Valley and proud son of immigrant parents from Mexico. He is a proud alumnus from the University of California, Irvine where he double majored in Political Science and International Studies. During his free time he loves to spend time playing basketball and training horses with his dad.
