BRYANNA RUIZ FERNANDEZ is a proud first-generation daughter of immigrants who is passionate about serving the immigrant community through advocacy and research. Bryanna is currently a senior at UCLA studying Political Science, Public Affairs, and Chicanx Studies. Throughout her undergraduate career, Bryanna has worked as a Public Policy Fellow at the UCLA Latino Policy and Politics Institute, where she conducts research such issues as voting rights and Latino representation in the media. In addition, Bryanna has conducted research on Latino homeownership as a Public Policy Intern at the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals. Most recently, Bryanna participated in the Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Program as a data-analytics Public Policy Fellow. In this role, she was able to work at the intersection of data and public policy. Bryanna believes that through research-based policy advocacy and implementation, communities of color will be better served and represented by those in public office.
