CELESTE R. FIGUEROA (she/her/hers) a senior majoring in Political Science and minoring in Public Affairs. As an incoming Policy Fellow within the UCLA LPPI Programs Department, she is dedicated to expanding access to healthcare and improving workers’ rights for immigrants in and around Los Angeles county. 

At UCLA, Celeste is an active member of the Pre-Law Society and Latinx Pre-Law Association as an individual seeking to enter the legal world. She recently completed an internship at the League of United Latin American Citizens’ headquarters—the nation’s oldest and largest Hispanic civil rights organization—in Washington D.C. as a Policy and Legislation intern. It was here that Celeste headed matters on ‘Immigration & Foreign Affairs’ and ‘Energy, Environment, Science, & Technology’. 

Celeste is a first-generation college student who grew up in Ventura County to proud parents of Puerto Rican, Nicaraguan, Mexican, and Colombian descent.
