The UCLA Voting Rights Project is a project of the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs aimed at creating an accessible and equitable system of voting for all Americans through impact litigation, research, and clinical education to expand access to the ballot box.

Policy Fellow

DENISE RAMOS-VEGA (she/her/hers) is a senior at UCLA double-majoring in Geography and Chicano/a/x and Central American Studies with a minor in Education.

As someone who has been impacted by systemic inequity throughout her life, Denise aims to uplift those who the system leaves behind. Denise serves as the UCLA Latinx Greek Council President, overseeing seven fraternities and sororities, and as the chapter treasurer and public relations chair for Lambda Theta Alpha, Latin Sorority Inc. She remains connected to her home community as a public speaker, as a facilitator of “Know Your Rights” workshops, and as a bridge between parents and administrators at her sister’s elementary school. As a Fellow in the UCLA LPPI Research Department, Denise is deepening her research interests in educational inequity, urban planning, and immigration. Her future goals include pursuing a master’s in public policy and working in the public sector within policy development, research, and state legislation.

Denise is the proud daughter of Mexican immigrants. She was born and raised in a small, predominantly Latinx community nestled in Fullerton, California and is the first in her family to graduate from high school and continue onto college.
