Project Policy Analyst, UCLA LPPI

Mariah Bonilla (she/her/hers) is a Project Policy Analyst at UCLA LPPI and the Latino Data Hub’s Project Coordinator. She supports the Latino Data Hub’s community outreach and evaluation of its programs, projects, and research.

Previously, Mariah was a co-author of Young Black Changemakers and the Road to Racial Justice (Cambridge University Press, 2024), in which she wrote about the launching points of civic engagement and the role of organizations in sustaining young Black changemakers. She also served as a Youth Justice Fellow at the Social Justice Learning Institute, where her advocacy extended to international coalition building, direct action, and advocacy for the rights of Los Angeles residents.

Mariah is interested in criminal legal research and advocacy. She was born and raised in Los Angeles and began her career as a junior community organizer at 16 years old. She holds a B.A. in Public Affairs with a minor in Chicana/o Studies from UCLA and is an alumna fellow of UCLA LPPI’s Research Department.
