Policy Fellow

TYLER “TY” RIVERA (he/him/his) is a third-year law student at UCLA. An incoming Fellow within the UCLA LPPI Mobilization Department, he is passionate about racial and immigration justice and will be practicing education law upon graduation.

At UCLA Law, Ty co-chaired the Latinx Law Student Association during his second year and currently serves as a Chief Executive Editor of the Chicanx-Latinx Law Review. He has worked as a legal intern at the immigration nonprofits RAICES in Texas and Esperanza Immigrants’ Rights Project in Los Angeles. During undergrad, he worked with Voto Latino to support civic engagement among Latino communities in the Oklahoma City metro area.

Ty is a proud Latinx law student with roots in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas. He takes seriously his representation as a Latinx law student in a field with little representation. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2020 with B.A.’s in Political Science, African & African-American Studies, and Spanish.
