Uriel Saldivar
URIEL SALDIVAR (he/him/el) is a first-generation student from the Central Valley completing his second year at UCLA Law. As an incoming Fellow for the LPPI mobilization team, he aims to leverage his legislative policy and organizing background to help his Latino community.
Uriel previously spearheaded legislative and policy campaigns in the office of then-Assemblymember Rob Bonta and the Community Water Center to address pervasive statewide issues. For example he worked with labor leaders and organizers to expand worker rights and protections for workers, and he helped secure significant infrastructure budget allocations for drinking water and wastewater infrastructure in marginalized communities. During Law School, Uriel has volunteered with U-Visa Pro Bono Clinic, UCLA Law Fellows, and Chicano Latino Youth Leadership Project. Additionally, he is working as a Summer Associate with Best, Best, & Krieger. This law firm specializes in municipal and land use law, providing legal counsel to local governments across the state.
Uriel previously attended UC Berkeley, majoring in Political Economy and minoring in Public Policy. He is the proud son of Mexican immigrants and is passionate about public service because it took a village to raise him with love and empathy.
