Ananya Hariharan

Ananya Hariharan (she/her) is a Senior Fellow at the Voting Rights Project and a graduate student in UCLA’s Department of Political Science. At the VRP, Ananya has two primary bodies of work. The first centers around developing new techniques to measure racially polarized voting within contexts that existing methods operate poorly within (like in small jurisdictions and jurisdictions with poor voter turnout). Her second body of work leverages jurisdiction boundaries as geographic discontinuities to get causal purchase on questions related to the efficacy of voting rights litigation and VRA-enforced representation. Ananya has been with the VRP since 2023.
