Carl Maier
Student Researcher
Carl Maier (he/him/his) is a fourth-year undergraduate student majoring in Political Science, and double minoring in Education Studies and Environmental Systems & Society. He joined the UCLA Voting Rights Project in 2024 as a student in the year-long course. Now as a student researcher assisting both the legal and data teams, Carl is committed to ensuring fair representation through the empowerment of marginalized communities.
On campus, Carl serves as the President for Swipe Out Hunger at UCLA, leading the collection of approximately 70,000+ meals annually for food insecure Bruins. As a first-generation college student, he is committed to advancing equity and accountability in coalition with many communities.
