Summary:

On May 20, 2020, The UCLA Luskin Summit held a session focusing on the need to mobilize and unite the immigrant community in Los Angeles amid the Trump Era. The session aimed to address the anti-immigrant sentiment that continues to reverberate throughout the economy and within the public health, education, political and criminal justice systems.

Latino Policy and Politics Institute and the UCLA Voting Rights project co-founder Matt Barreto led the conversation among advocate leaders Efrain Escobedo from the California Community Foundation, Angelica Salas, executive director of CHIRLA, and Jennie Carreon, Assistant to Vice President of Civic Engagement and Government Relations at AltaMed Health Services.
