Joselyn Martinez
Joselyn Martinez (she/her/ella) is a fourth-year undergraduate student majoring in Political Science with a concentration in Race, Ethnicity, and Politics and double minoring in Chicana/o Studies and Spanish. She became involved with the Voting Rights Project through the year-long course. As a student researcher within the Administration Department of the Voting Rights Project, Joselyn is passionate about researching jurisdictions that have historically underrepresented minority communities in an effort to advance voting rights.
At UCLA, she serves as a senior research assistant working alongside a PhD student to track the effect of anti-immigrant rhetoric on Latino voting behavior across national and local news. Additionally, she serves as President of LULAC de UCLA, Director of Fostering Connections for the Academic Affairs Commission under the Undergraduate Students Association (USAC), and Co-Chair of the Civic Engagement Committee for Ignite at UCLA. She has previously worked as an Outreach Lead for Class Action and as a Development Intern with IGNITE National. She was selected to participate in the Future Forum Youth Congress in 2024. Joselyn was selected as a Civic Engagement Fellow with the California League of United Latin American Citizens.
